When it comes to packing for a holiday, it’s a little different when you don’t have to worry about luggage limits or other airport regulations. It’s one of the big benefits of going on holiday in the UK rather than heading abroad.
If you can fit it in your car, you can bring it with you – within reason, of course!
But, when you have so much choice of what to bring with you it can be easy to overlook some of the things that you’ll actually need the most.
With that in mind, read on to consult our list of some of the essential things to pack for Cornwall caravan holidays.
The List on Essential Things to Pack for Cornwall Caravan Holidays
Clothing layers
No matter what the weather forecast says ahead of time, there’s always a chance that the great British weather will throw you a curveball. Just because it’s warm and sunny one day, that doesn’t mean it won’t be tipping it down with rain the next.
So, make sure that you pack some extra layers. That way you’re free to add a bit of extra warmth to your outfits if need be, or remove a layer if the day turns warmer than you’d expected.
Swimwear
If you’re planning on going in the sea for a dip, then you’ll definitely need to pack some swimwear. In fact, having more than one set could be a good idea if you don’t want to have to wait for them to dry.
Cornwall is well known for its beaches and waves, so it would be a shame not to take full advantage of them while you’re there.
Good shoes
While some of the locals may spend most of their time in flipflops that doesn’t mean you should too! They’re great for the beach but, when you’re exploring some of Cornwall’s other areas, you’ll want something a bit sturdier.
Pack a pair of shoes that are comfortable but also up for any walking that you might be planning. If you tackle some of The South West Coast Path, for example, then you’ll need some good trainers or something similar.
Chargers
Even though a Cornwall holiday is a good time to try out a bit of a digital detox, you don’t have to leave all your technology back at home. For your mobile phone, cameras and any other tech you bring with you, don’t forget to pack the chargers.
A replacement phone charger isn’t the hardest thing to find in a pinch, but your other devices might not be so lucky. And, for when you’re taking a hike in nature or are otherwise on the move, it might be handy to bring along a power bank to reduce the risk of your phone running out of juice.
Camera
On that matter, if you can afford it then bringing a proper camera could be a way to make your holiday even more memorable. Rather than just relying on your smartphone, using an old-school camera can help you disconnect from the Internet a little and focus more on the here and now.
Plus, some of the wildlife you might spot could be a decent distance away, making the extra zoom of a traditional camera even more valuable.
Picnic blanket
To spend time on the beach you’re going to want something to sit on. That’s where a good picnic blanket comes in, as it’s lightweight and takes up little space.
Having a blanket to spread over the sand means you’ll get to pick your spot on the beach, rather than having to look for somewhere with rocks to sit on. Nobody wants to deal with getting sand in everything, so a picnic blanket is an essential for any beach excursions.
Making sure that your Cornwall caravan holiday goes as smoothly and enjoyably as possible relies on you packing the right things.
While you can pick up some things at a local shop it’s best to be fully prepared ahead of time. That way you don’t have to waste any time getting down to some proper rest and relaxation.
